This part of services is to promote the worldwide technology progress & transfer, investment and trade of solar photovoltaic industry and to understand and study the possibility of solar photovoltaic application in aerial and spatial vehicles – aircrafts, airships, aerostats, balloons, blimps and spacecrafts for various purposes – such as remote sensing, monitoring, telecommunication relays etc, both for civil and military uses. Our services and researches are categorized as follows:
- Providing industry marketing analysis and reports, follow-up technologies, sourcing, marketing intelligence and? investment and cooperation strategies with the Chinese industry.
- At times of solar boom I was able to secure solar orders from Europe worth dozens of millions of EURO.
See the following areas:
- Solar energy and power,
- Solar photovoltaic consultation & engineering
- Solar photovoltaic reporting & information with my flagship reports of SolarChina (previously ChinaSolar, total ca 7500 pages). My ChinaSolar and ChinaPower reporting was accepted by some of the multinationals such as Bayer, Saint Gobaint and Mannesmann.
- as well as the the highly expected SolarTech reports and also my favorite, and later the SolaRad reports.
- Daylighting, Light absorption technology and Solar therapy and sun ray protection, incl. testing, inspection and certification of UV sunray protection materials and devices against humans and materials
- Consulting for conventional power, i.e. fossil, hydro, nuclear etc with the ChinaPower (total ca 6500 pages), with several subreports
- Solar radiation and solar radiation measurement technology
- Solar aviation and aerospace consultation & engineering, incl. solar aircrafts and spacecrafts as well as light propulsion
- Solar aviation and aerospace (saa) report reporting & information
- Development and Operation of Industry Portals
- Developed a solar web portal of www.solaires.com which won popularity in the industry worldwide and was quoted by US DOE/NREAL, ISES, JPMorgan, and other well-known industry players, investment banks and consultants. It was the entry point of the Chinese solar industry for international solar communities, and it was and still remains to be the only English language webportal dedicated to the Chinese solar industry.
- Once a British investor wanted to acquire it at a price of US 15 million but I’ve rejected the acquisition motive.
- Unfortunately due to the more and more strict restrictions and controls of the Internet imposed by the Chinese regime, I was so angry that I have to abandon this valuable solar portal of China.
- Renewable energies – wind, biomass, geothermal, ocean, waste to power etc
- Consulting for renewable energies – wind, biomass, geothermal, ocean, waste to power etc
- Conventional power, i.e. fossil, hydro, nuclear etc
This service helped foreign companies in understanding the Chinese industries and markets and assisted in their investment, technology transfer, sourcing and other businesses in China.
Our clients are major international players such as Bayer, Saint Gobain, Wacker, Mannesmann, HeliosTech etc and here below is an incomplete list of clients showing interests in my services (2003-2005):
You might be interested in what’s happening here to Chinese solar industry during the time of economic recession. Of course China cannot escape from that crisis, and in fact, many factories are being shut down – for example 90% or more of the module assemblers were already closed – out of about 400 now only 35 survived. And the remaining is doing badly as well. Suntech Solar Power, one of the leading solar cell manufacturers in the world, has been slashing one third of its labor force. What is the biggest problem and challenge towards the Chinese solar companies, and who have the better chance to survive – even to prosper – during that time of hardship – these and many other critical issues are of our main concerns and reportage with our report called SolarChina. Check with us for more information.
We prepare and sell the unique SolarChina reports to the worldwide solar communities since 2001. We're the pioneering consultant in this field. Currently the report is divided in about 13 chapters with ca 150 pages in the following areas:
Section 1:News & Introduction: This section summarizes the Chinese solar photovoltaic industry, market, technology, research and development such as solar energy resource, solar PV production capacity, solar PV application and installation statistics, solar PV industry size, regional development and comparision etc. At the same time we also report on the major events of the chinese solar industry.
Section 2:Policies, Laws, Government Plans, Incentives, Financing: Initiatives, policies, guidelines, constitutions, laws, regulations, rules, directives, and government plans at different levels are effecting the Chinese solar pv development in the most important way, as any other industries. And solar pv industry is much more heavily dependent of these policies. Understanding these policies and their development are therefore very important to anyone who wants to avoid mistakes, errors and failure in investment and marketing in China.
Section 3:Academic: This section provides information about the learning, training, education of the Chinese solar industry. You also have chances to look into other information sources such as magazines, journals, books and newspapers.
Section 4:Codes, Directives, Standards, Specifications, Guidelines, Quality, Certifications: China starts to implement its own solar pv standard system which is largely a mimic of the ISO original. Several testing and inspection institutions are set up to execute the quality certification and inspection activities. Some more are under construction.
Section 5:Government & Multilateral Programs: Currently China’s solar industry is mainly government program driven – that’s to say, that the industry is still not commercially built up. Most of the pv projects are either government sponsored with international aides or within the framework of government programs at national or local levels. Major programs such as the Brightness Program and the Village Electricity Program are still the dominating solar photovoltaic power businesses for local and international companies.
Section 6:Applications & Projects: Interesting solar product applications and solar project news nationwide.
Section 7:International Photovoltaic Businesses in China: This section covers Chinese-international cooperation and exchange in the solar industry, incl. joint research, international seminars, technology transfer, international involvement in the Chinese projects, and Chinese involvement in foreign solar projects.
Section 8:Scientists, Researches & Development: (Top Chinese PV Scientists and Research Development)
Section 9:Technologies, Products & Production: This section mainly reports on new products, new patents or inventions, innovation of existing products of solar energy applications such as controllers, inverters, solar power systems, solar water pumping, solar desalination, and consumer products.
Section 10:Software, Databases, IT & Ecommerce: Software for research and design, manufacturing, quality inspection, operation, online databases of the Chinese solar resources and industry, e-commerce, and IT applications in the solar industry.
?
Section 11:Business Opportunities: This part of the report provides you real world business information about purchase of solar products from Chinese buyers, construction projects for international partnership from Chinese manufacturers, and merger and acquasition activities in the industry
Section 12:Market Information: In this section, we will report on the general market trends, price development, information about several pv-related publicly listed companies, and in the future, detailed information and summery about the market information of the Chinese solar photovoltaic market.
Section 13:Events: (Conferences, Conventions, Symposiums, Seminars, Forums, Exhibitions, Fairs, Expositions of past, present and future.)
Additionally two other documents are available:
List Solar Cell and Module Manufacturers (Silicon feedstock, wafer, cell and modules)
List of Suppliers of BOS of solar power systems (charge controllers, inverters, batteries); manufacturers of special solar power systems, technologies, solar application and consumer products; suppliers and manufacturers of solar lights and decoratives

China is indeed a cheap salary land "Billiglohnland", where products are supposedly can be produced at a much low cost, at least as far as labor is concerned. However, there are a number of other factors that have impacts on the final prices: social structural cost, technology and production efficiency, labor force skill and work altitude, etc. At this moment, the chinese solar cell and module prices are more expensive than the international level, because of the higher production cost due to outdated production facilities and lack of research.
However, the situation has been changing dramatically since later 2002. A number of companies have mushroomed all over the country with imported production lines and large scale of production (in MW scale). Soon the chinese manufacturers will catch up with the international level of quality and production capacity, and with its extremely low labor cost (about 1/50 of the US or EU), they are becoming competitive, and as a result, sourcing of solar PV products will also become a profitable business as those of textiles, electronics, toys and other consumer products.
