Solar Applications in Aviation and Aerospace

Our mission to understand the possibility of solar photovoltaic application in aerial vehicles 每 aircrafts, airships, aerostats, ballons, blimps and spacecrafts for various purposes 每 such as remote sensoring, monitoring, telecommunication relays etc, both for civil and military uses. Here we restrict our research and coverage to only solar propulsion 每 either direct or indirect through ion propulsion, excluding those for electricity supply to onboard devices and systems.

We*re possibly the only entity in the world that has made an indepth coverage of all the research, development and commercial projects in the area.

We*re completing and have completed parts of the comprehensive reports about all the projects in the past, at the present ongoing and the planned ones. We have made an indepth studies of the projects, analyzed their technologies, systems, components, commercial viability etc. We*ve prepared for English and Chinese version of the studies and reports. In addition, we try to engage in the power system design and engineering for the above systems and technologies with availability in China. We*re also interested in introduce the technologies and products of other countries to China for commercialization.

Reporting & Information

Solar Aviation and Aerospace (SAA) Report

The Solar Aviation and Aerospace (SAA) report is comprised of the following parts:

  1. Part I: Solar Aircrafts: about solar aircrafts using solar photovoltaic electricity as power to drive the propellers through electric motors in fixed and winged airplanes.
  2. Part II: Solar Airships: about solar airships, aerostats, balloons, blimps etc using solar photovoltaic electricity as power to drive the propellers through electric motors without fixed wings mostly for geostationary purposes.
  3. Part III: Light Ion Propulsion: spacecrafts propelled by ion gases generated by electricity from solar or stellar light photovoltaics.
  4. Part IV: Light Sails: space sailing crafts using the following sources of power: 1) solar or stellar light wind 2) solar or stellar light photonic pressure 3) solar or stellar light magnetic pressure and 4) concentrated beams using solar or stellar light power and others.
  5. Part V: Space Photovoltaics: theory and practices of space photovoltaics and technologies and products.
  6. Part VI: Sun Radiation It is a report and book about the sun radiation with the following chapters:? Basic theory, Sunlight direct use and storage, Software, databases, and online business, R&D, Scientists, Products, Organizations,? Academic events, Publications, Special focus will be put on space solar photovoltaic theory and technology.
  7. Part VII: Solar Physics: Research about the solar physics, incl. basic theory and technologies and tools used for understanding the physical phenomenon of the Sun and the space and atmospheric thermal physics owing to the sun radiation.
  8. Part VIII: Atmospheric Thermal Physics: thermal physics related to the atmosphere for the understanding of sun radiation
  9. Part IX: Thermal Physics in Solar Photovoltaics: thermal physics in the process of research, development, manufacturing and operation of solar silicons, wafers, cells, modules and systems.
  10. Part X: Sun to Human Life: everything the Sun is related to human society, such as healthcare, science, technology, literature, religion, politics, wars, art, commerce and business, a very extensive topic

The above reports are partly in preparation. Not all of them are completed at the present, most of them are just my plan, several years to make them realistic.
