My Master of Engineering research topic was SO2 emission control for coal combustion process. It was a municipal research project of Shanghai in the late 1980's and thus I was a pioneer in China's anti-pollution efforts. Only 20 years later China has then really taken measures to mitigate the SOX and NOx emission from coal fired power plants and automobiles.
