Braun (Shanghai)

Braun (www.braun.com) is a Germany based razor manufacturer of more than 80 years. It has been made a name also in China. In Shanghai's Minhang District where I spent more than three years, Braun has its production line.

In June I got a translation job for Braun's warehouse expansion project. I finished the translation of the contract documents from chinese to english and also several technical documents, amendments and addenda.

The translation job was basically finished mid June, and the first payment was nearly on time. But then second payment didn't come after my many of requests and a final call for payment in mid July, more than one month after I submitted my last translation.

And one month and a half is gone, there are still little money, pending.

I am not willing to describe the whole payment behavior of Braun. I could only say, it is a unreliable company, like 99.99999% of all others.

Lessons from this company: never deliver your translation before your money is in your pocket, and better don't start your translation at all before you get your money physically, not by any commitment or prove.
