My Diaries

(July 2011)

2011-07-18: 12 days ago I went to an interview with a German company in Shanghai, which was a total failure. I was so shabby, tired, old, and miserable that the interview was the worst of my career ever. Two or three days ago a local Shanghai company called me for an interview, but no further message was received after this tele talk, where I've requested to pay for my trip for the interview. And today I've received another interview invitation, this time from a German company in Nanjing. Shanll I go or no go? Shall I ask them to pay my travelling cost? Nowadays entrepreneurs are very tight-pocketed, unwilling to pay for the candidates' trip. Their altitude is: if you want to come, come at your own cost, and spend your own time. For me, I have neither enough money nor time. Therefore in the future I will not go to any such events with the commitment of the payment.

2011-07-24: Today I've decided once again to give up continous learning of German, French and Russian, keeping only English competitive and continue to learn Greek a bit. Perhaps I will also give up learning Greek sooner or later.

My high school classmate Mr Fei Jianming, who is now a director of the local agricultural institute, called me and wanted to help me find a job in the city of Huzhou, my hometown.

My marketing efforts over the last four months has yielded nothing, but I will not stop the marketing. Experiences show that when one insists on doing something, in correct way, there will always be results and success. The question is whether or not I am doing the right way, not the right thing. Direct mass emailing seems to have little chance to win client orders, especially when my mass mailing scheme is very old and slow. Lack of propriate website - instead using a free host - is also a factor damaging my business image.

Since coming to Huzhou, I am earger to breed a cat and therefore I am running all over the city to catch one. As a result I was bitten by some cats, and bleeding. Neverless I could get one as my hard efforts. That proves that persistant and hard working are the key to success, regardless what you're trying to do.

Huzhou has become a large city now a large city, with more than a million inhabitants. It is extremely impressive with its new streets, buildings and industrial parks like everywhere in China. Living here is easier than those metropolises like Shanghai or Beijing, which are too crowded and populated. Here in Huzhou one still can buy things from small sellers on the streets, in the living quarters and prices sometimes are cheap - nevertheless the overall price level - except housing - is higher than on those bigger cities.

2011-07-28: By now I am clear that in the future I will no more follow all the past competemcies. In other words, I will start my new life and career by forgetting all what I've done in my past. I will no more learn and practices all other languages - German, French, Russian, Greek and some others, except English; I will no more follow up IT and Internet technologies apart from those needed for maintaining my websites and online activities; I will say goodbye to my university major and industry experiences in thermal sciences and power incl also solar and other renewables, fluiddynamics, thermodynamics etc; I will also no more follow all other expertise I've gathered during my past - quality management, as an example.

What's left? In my future career and life, I will only concentrate on mathematics and English as my sole studies areas, and as far as business is considered, there's no preferrence and likelihood - it is only meaningful that it shall bring sufficient income to me and my family. I have no big plan.

Thus my future life will be much lighter and easier. I will no more be labelled multilinguistic, no more thermophysicist. But I want to be among the top mathematicians. That, I will try to realize in a couple of years, provided that sufficient income flow at steady and stable manner is guaranteed.

2011-7-31: Mami has come to me and stays with me on July 28, that makes me very happy. To take care of her and stay with her has been my lifetime goal and this is now again realized. I’ve not been with my mom since 2003 ever after a short while of living together at the Tianhe Xiyuan garden in Hangzhou.

My business in yacht, properties and other industries has been stagnating and now I’ve decided to stop all of them, instead I will turn to thermal energy – which is my specialist field – starting from water heaters for household. Later it shall cover all areas of thermal technologies and thermal energy applications to all users.
